Hassan Hajjaj
Hassan Hajjaj, born in 1961 in Larache, Morocco, is a contemporary artist whose diverse practice spans photography, fashion, music, cinema, and design. Known for his examination of the self and society in today's globalized, hyperconnected world, Hajjaj explores themes of tradition and identity, particularly through the lens of Moroccan visual culture, blending Eastern and Western elements with a distinctive use of materials and patterns. Work by Hassan Hajjaj is included in collections across the globe, including the Brooklyn Museum, New York, NY; Los Angeles County Museum of Art, CA; Victoria & Albert Museum, London, UK; Institut des Cultures d’Islam, Paris, France; Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, UAE; Kamel Lazaar Foundation, Tunisia; Musée d’Art Contemporain Africain Al Maaden, Marrakesh, Morocco; and National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne, Australia.
Rose Previte
Rose Previte is a distinguished chef, restauranteur, and author of cookbook Maydān: Recipes from Lebanon and Beyond, known for her acclaimed Washington, D.C.- area restaurants Compass Rose, the MICHELIN-starred Maydān, Medina and Kirby Club. With a deep-rooted culinary background from her Sicilian-Lebanese heritage and extensive industry experience, Previte has earned significant recognition, including a RAMMY award for Restauranteur of the Year and features in Washingtonian magazine's “40 Under 40”.
