Coinciding with the 21st edition of ZonaMaco, Latin America's most important art fair, Mexico City’s galleries and institutions present a stellar array of programmes across the capital. Artist Salah Elmur makes his debut at both gallery and Latin America with a series of new paintings reflecting on his childhood near the Blue Nile in Khartoum, Sudan.
YANN GERSTBERGER: 2 FEET IN 1 BUCKET OF ICE | OMR | OPENS 1 FEB
Created in his Pacific coast studio in Mexico, Gerstberger’s latest works reflect his multifaceted practice, combining painting and tapestry. Using a technique he developed, he adheres hand-dyed cotton fibres—originally from mops—to canvas, creating richly textured surfaces.
