An Update on Frieze Los Angeles 2025

24 Jan 2025 An Update on Frieze Los Angeles 2025

As Los Angeles continues to grapple with the devastation of ongoing wildfires, Frieze Los Angeles 2025 will proceed as planned on 20–23 February, following thoughtful discussions with galleries, partners, and city-wide stakeholders. In times of crisis, the arts serve as a powerful force for resilience, connection, and renewal. We are encouraged to see Frieze’s continued commitment to supporting the city’s cultural and economic landscape, ensuring the fair remains a space for creativity, collaboration, and solidarity within the local arts community.

Navigating the overwhelming impact of the recent fires has been incredibly challenging. Alongside our member community, many artists and arts workers we’ve collaborated with at The Cultivist over the past decade have lost their homes and studios too. Many of them have started GoFundMe’s and we are enheartened to see a majority reach their goals in a matter of days.

Despite Los Angeles being a vast, sprawling city, the community is tight-knit. Regardless of neighborhood, the art community quickly united without hesitation showing incredible generosity. These deep connections and care for one another sustain the LA art community in these moments of hardship.

As a team, we are actively engaging with affected artists and organisations to understand how we can provide meaningful support. The L.A. Arts Community Fire Relief Fund has emerged as a vital resource for those in need. For those of you who have asked how to best support, you can learn more or contribute here: LA Arts Community Fire Relief Fund.

Our team has adjusted and reduced our members’ events programme for Frieze Los Angeles to better support those affected. By reallocating funds from these changes, we're making direct donations to artists impacted by the fires. This approach allows our remaining initiatives to foster connection by offering spaces for those who find solace in art while providing aid to those in need.
